Cheung Hwan

Abstract
Radiology is presenty faring its greateat challenge for the 21st century of rapid change. Today diagnostic radioiogical images are bang generated in digital form, as well as on film, and can be distributed electronially through the hospital complex on a local area network As a result, the situation demands a new approach in managing images and diagnostic report. Its generally accepted that the managent of radiology images can be by some computer based image system. The total electronic or digital department becomes more possible every year because of the electanoic revolution and consequent increase in computer power and capabilities. Digital radiology utilizer computer data rather than film for interpretation and archiving. Digital information technologies, such as PACS and teleradiology provide the tools for radiology to respond to the challenges of today, take more responsibility for the entire diagnostic decision process. The constant improvement in computer power and performance nowadays offers convenient and efficient means of manipulating images, graphics, and movies on off- the -self workstations.
